The invitation

There's a reason people say the veil between worlds feels a little thinner on the Isle of Skye.

Perhaps it's the ancient mountains rising out of the sea. The mist drifting across the moors. The centuries-old castles, the Celtic legends, and the feeling that something magical might be waiting just around the next bend in the road.

Last October, I stood on the pier at Elgol with 7 women as the dramatic peaks of the Cuillin mountains rose out of the sea before us. We'd spent the afternoon crossing dark, glassy waters, spotting seals along the way, and exploring the wild shores of Loch Coruisk, one of the most extraordinary landscapes I've ever experienced.

There was laughter. There was awe. There were moments of complete silence as we took it all in.

And somewhere between the adventures, the shared meals, the fireside conversations, and the unexpected moments of Highland magic, something beautiful was unfolding.

Seven women who had arrived as relative strangers were becoming friends.

But something else was happening, too. Throughout our week, we explored the relationship between the landscapes around us and the landscapes within us.

The rugged mountains. The shifting tides. The mist that obscures the path ahead, only to reveal something extraordinary when it lifts.

In a place where the weather can change a dozen times in a single afternoon, there was something powerful about remembering that our own lives move through seasons of clarity and uncertainty, stillness and change.

And that perhaps we don't always need to know what's waiting around the next bend. Sometimes, we simply need to be willing to explore.

With love from the Highlands, Brockell

And that's the magic of Skye.

It's a place that invites you to rediscover your sense of wonder. To embrace adventure. To follow your curiosity. To remember how good it feels to be surprised by life. And to share it all with a small circle of women who, by the end of the week, may feel like friends you've known for years.

All while being beautifully cared for, with every thoughtful detail arranged so you can simply arrive and immerse yourself in the experience.

This is your invitation to Awaken.
To adventure. To wonder. To connection.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, to discover something new about yourself.

“

I don't know if you realize how fabulous this Skye retreat was Brockell… the lifelong lasting effect that it has given me. Words only diminish the essence of the whole experience. I am still pinching myself this morning as I wake up to the reality of being apart from the group and the magic of Skye.

The journey beyond the landscape
Wild and welcoming. Rugged and tender.
Ancient and ever-changing.

The Isle of Skye is a place of contrasts. And throughout our week together, we'll explore not only the extraordinary landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, but the landscapes of our own lives. Through intentional gatherings, gentle movement, guided reflection, and the simple experience of being immersed in nature, we'll create space to notice what the outer world might be reflecting back to us.

There is no agenda for who you need to become. No expectation that you arrive with a question to answer or a chapter to close.

Just an invitation to be curious. To embrace the mystery of what lies ahead. And to allow the journey to unfold, both around you and within you.

What Makes Skye Different

From the moment you arrive, every detail has been considered so that you can immerse yourself in the experience, connect with the women around you, and enjoy the magic of Scotland.

The Magic, in Their Own Words

“
My week on the Isle of Skye with Wanderlust Women was so much more than a retreat — it was an opportunity to pause, reconnect with myself, embrace new experiences and share meaningful moments with an incredible group of women! The beauty of the Scottish Highlands was breathtaking, and reminded me how restorative it can be to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature, and make space for reflection, laughter, connection, and adventure.
— Nichelle, Isle of Skye Retreat 2026
“
Brockell curates an experience that is a unique combination of nature, culture, personal space, group comfort, and yoga. I felt well cared for and also the just-right amount of challenged. Retreats for me are about being in a community of women, learning about myself while experiencing a new country and its beautiful land and culture. Brockell's yoga instruction hits the sweet spot for me — it reinforces that which I know and expands my abilities and comfort in trying something new.
— Ingrid, Isle of Skye Retreat 2026

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know anyone to attend?
Not at all! Many Wanderlust Women guests arrive on their own. With just seven women, our retreats are intentionally intimate, creating a welcoming space where meaningful friendships can unfold naturally.
How physically demanding is this retreat?
Our Highland adventures include walking on uneven terrain, exploring castles, and spending time outdoors. Some excursions may involve moderate hiking, but we'll adapt our plans to the weather and the group's abilities. You don't need to be an experienced hiker, but you should feel comfortable walking for extended periods and navigating occasional rocky or uneven paths. And remember, everything is optional! If a particular adventure doesn't feel right for you, we'll help arrange an alternative experience, or you're always welcome to stay back at our cozy Highland home and enjoy a restful retreat day at your own pace.
Do I need yoga experience?
Absolutely not. Our movement practices are accessible and optional, designed to complement our adventures and help you feel grounded and restored throughout the week.
What is the weather like on the Isle of Skye in September?
Skye is famously unpredictable! You may experience sunshine, mist, wind, and rain, sometimes all in the same afternoon. September can be a beautiful time to visit, and we'll provide a detailed packing guide so you're prepared to enjoy the Highlands in all their moods.
Which airport should I fly into?
The closest airport is Inverness (INV), with easy connections through London, Manchester, Amsterdam, and Dublin. Many guests traveling from North America fly into Edinburgh (EDI) or Glasgow (GLA), which receive direct international flights — from either city, it's a beautiful 3–3.5 hour train journey through the Highlands to Inverness. However you arrive, our group transfer collects you in Inverness and brings you the rest of the way to Skye.
How do I get to the retreat?
We'll arrange a group transfer from Inverness Airport and town center to our accommodations on the Isle of Skye on Sunday, September 12, 2027, with return transportation on Saturday, September 18. We recommend arriving in Inverness at least one day early to allow for international travel delays and a relaxed start to your adventure.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes! Our private chef can accommodate many common dietary needs and preferences with advance notice. Please let us know about any allergies or restrictions when registering so we can confirm arrangements.
Is the wild swimming experience required?
Not at all! Our optional Highland sea swim is an opportunity to experience the island's wild waters in a memorable way, with wetsuits provided. You're equally welcome to enjoy the coastline from shore.
What's the difference between the cottages and the private suites?
Our Highland cottages feature shared bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces, with both private bedrooms and one shared twin room available. The neighboring bed and breakfast offers two private bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, ideal for guests who prefer additional privacy.
Is travel insurance required?
Travel insurance is not required, but it is strongly recommended for all guests. We encourage you to protect your investment with comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and unexpected travel disruptions. We recommend exploring World Nomads for travel insurance options. Be sure to review your policy carefully to ensure it provides appropriate coverage for your trip and planned activities.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your $500 deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations beyond 182 days of the retreat start date receive a full refund on all moneys paid, minus the $500 deposit and a $75 administrative processing fee. Cancellations within the 181-day window are responsible for 50% of the retreat balance — if you've paid more than 50%, you'll be issued a 50% refund or the option to transfer to another retreat within the same calendar year. Within 120 days of the retreat start date, the client is responsible for the full cost of the retreat and no refunds will be issued. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
When will registration open?
Our waitlist will receive first access to registration, exclusive pre-sale pricing (saving £150, approximately $200), and priority room selection before the retreat opens to the public. With just seven places available, joining the waitlist is the best way to secure your preferred accommodation.

Seven places. One island.
We'd love for one of them to be yours.
